The Script to Screen series examines the screenplay and its transition to the screen from the perspective of writers, directors, producers, and actors. The UCSB Pollock Theater connects artists to our audience of aspiring production students, the Santa Barbara community and Academy & Guild Members.
Script to Screen’s Q&As transform into a television show that has garnered over 3.8 million online views on the UCTV cable station. These shows have had many esteemed Film & TV artists, including 14 Oscar® winners and 13 Emmy® winners. Past guests include, writer/director/producer Jordan Peele (Get Out), director/co-screenwriter Debra Granik (Leave No Trace), screenwriter Stephany.Folsom (Toy Story 4), and writer/producer/director David Mandel (VEEP), & actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus (VEEP).
Script to Screen is hosted by the Pollock Theater Director, Matt Ryan, and co-produced by the Pollock Theater student staff. The series is sponsored by the Carsey-Wolf Center, the department of Film and Media Studies and The Scott Frank Fund for Screenwriting.
