Featured student films:

GreenScreen is UCSB’s flagship environmental media production program where creativity meets advocacy. Students from across the arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences come together to form dynamic production teams that tackle some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. From concept to screen, they collaborate with local environmental organizations to craft powerful short films that raise awareness and reimagine how environmental issues are told and understood.

Throughout the quarter, students dive into hands-on filmmaking, refine their storytelling skills, and develop a critical, cross-disciplinary approach to media production. The program culminates with a public premiere at UC Santa Barbara’s Pollock Theater, where their work is showcased on the big screen for peers, community partners, and industry professionals. For many, this isn’t just a class, but a beginning of a meaningful career in environmental media production.

The program culminates in an end-of-quarter film premiere at UC Santa Barbara’s Pollock Theater.
