The Carsey-Wolf Center is committed to screening documentaries from across the world that engage with contemporary and historical issues, especially regarding social justice and environmental concerns. Documentaries allow filmmakers to address pressing issues and frame the critical debates of our time.

Our documentary events promote vital dialogue by allowing audiences to engage with films and filmmakers in a post-screening discussion. Past events have included Shut Up & Sing with directors Barbara Kopple and Cecilia Peck; Social Studies with director Lauren Greenfield and documentary participants Jonathan Gelfond and Ivy D’Ambrosio; Sisters with Transistors with musician Suzanne Ciani; Last Things with filmmaker Deborah Stratman; Max Roach: The Drum Also Waltzes with director Sam Pollard; Floyd Norman: An Animated Life with animator Floyd Norman; and Free Angela & All Political Prisoners with Dr. Angela Davis and Producer Sidra Smith.
