Ecologies of Childhood: A Global and Environmental Research Conference

The research project Ecologies of Childhood examines environmental discourse in global children’s literature, media, and culture, as well as the collaborative performance of childhood evident within a variety of visual and verbal media ecologies. It will culminate in a large, interdisciplinary, and international research conference entitled Ecologies of Childhood: Children’s Literature, Culture, and the Environment, which will be convened at UCSB on August 12-17, 2023. This will be the 26th Biennial Congress of the International Research Society for Children’s Literature (IRSCL), a global research society for scholars of children’s literature, culture, and media, and the first time this conference is convened in the United States.
