Rediscovering U.S. Newsfilm: Gems from the Archive

An evening of screenings of rare theatrical newsreels, news magazines, and television newsfilm from the UCLA Film and Television Archive and the University of South Carolina’s Moving Image Research Collections, with commentary by film and television archivists. Participants will include Mark Cooper (University of South Carolina), Mark Quigley (UCLA) and Greg Wilsbacher (University of South Carolina). This event is presented as part of the Rediscovering U.S. Newsfilm symposium.

Special thanks to Blaine Bartell and Jeffrey Bickel from the UCLA Film & Television Archive and Amy Meaney from the University of South Carolina’s Moving Image Research Collections (MIRC) who helped organize and present this event.

This event is free but a reservation is recommended in order to guarantee a seat.
