If you’re passionate about film and television and eager to build skills in theater management and digital video production, a staff position at the Carsey-Wolf Center could be a great fit for you! Student staff at the CWC play a key role in supporting the Center’s work helping create a memorable moviegoing experience for Pollock Theater patrons. Staff gain hands-on experience in a wide range of tasks, from pre-event promotion and live event production to multi-cam shooting, editing, and publishing event videos.

Applicants should have strong leadership and customer service skills, be highly organized, and show a willingness to learn media equipment, with a passion for film, television, and digital media. Student staff are encouraged to engage actively with Carsey-Wolf Center programming and treat their position as a meaningful learning opportunity. Prior production experience is not required, though it is welcome. On-the-job training will be provided to support all production-related responsibilities.

There are two different roles for CWC student staff:

Event Staff are scheduled to work during screening events at the Pollock Theater, including setup and breakdown. Events typically occur twice a week and are usually held on weekday evenings (shifts from 4-10 PM) or occasionally on Saturdays (11 AM-5 PM). Production responsibilities rotate each event, offering the chance to serve in various roles such as Production Manager, Director, Camera Operator, Sound, Lighting, and more.

Office Staff may also be scheduled for events and share the same duties as Event Staff during those times. In addition, they work in the Manager’s Office during weekdays, supporting classroom instruction in the Pollock Theater. Responsibilities include assisting instructors with basic theater support such as help with playing films, setting up mics, replacing batteries, and various troubleshooting for any theater-related issues. The Office Staff also handle post-production and editing of the event videos.

We are currently hiring for Event Staff positions only. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience with Pollock operations, with the potential to be promoted into an Office Staff role in the future if you’re interested!
