Women in Media (WIM) at UC Santa Barbara is an organization focused on empowering and educating students interested in women’s roles and issues within the entertainment industry. The goal of WIM is to prepare the next generation of women media-makers as they enter into the professional world.

On April 27-28th, 2019 UCSB hosted its 4th Annual Women In Media conference. WIM conferences include seminars, panels, and workshops featuring distinguished women from across the entertainment industry. This year’s program included Lindsay Liles (supervising producer on ABC’s The Bachelor), Kit Steinkellner (writer on Facebook’s Sorry for Your Loss), Dilcia Barrera (programmer at the Sundance Film Festival), Sahar Vahedi (Blumhouse Television Director of Development and Programming) and several other speakers.

This conference was co-sponsored by the AS Finance and Business Committee, the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, the Carsey-Wolf Center and the Department of Film and Media Studies.
