Former Graduate Student Researchers

Aleah Kiley received her BA in Film and Media Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, her MSW from California State University Sacramento, and her MA in Media Studies from the University of Oregon. She is a PhD candidate in the Department of Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She studies the politics of culture and cultural inclusion in media industries. Aleah is particularly interested in intermediary processes and worlds of work. She explores how these forms of work are increasingly informed by corporate logics and more and more shape the terms of cultural inclusion both on and off the screen.
