On June 2nd, The Pollock Theater hosted the first ever Pollock Theater Interns Event. Six enthusiastic Pollock Interns, conceived, planned and directed the Legally Blonde 10th Anniversary event. Screening of the original Legally Blonde film was followed by a Q&A with the most successful women screenwriting team in Hollywood - Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah Lutz. The evening was fun, informative, insightful and absolutely hilarious.
The night was still young as we held the first ever "Bend and Snap: Fashion Show contest". The highlight of the event was the one-liners from Kirsten Smith as a "Bend and Snap" Contest Judge. The laughs and conversation continued during the reception featuring 300 pink cupcakes, which were baked and decorated by our energetic and creative Pollock Interns.
It was a great evening for the theater patrons, our screenwriting guests, and the Pollock Interns, Celia Lambert-Annalise Aguirre, Alcantara, Alyssa Kilambi, Jane Kim, Lara Kovan, Caitlin O'hara, Beatrice Von Guggenberg and Alyssa Zabala, who learned so much from planning this successful event.
“The Legally Blonde event was such a success! I enjoyed it so much and my housemates were so pleasantly surprised at how much fun they had. From the screening of the classic movie to the interview with the hilarious screenwriters to the delicious and adorable pink cupcakes, everyone had such a great time. The most valuable thing I gained from this event was learning that it is possible to get into the male-dominated film industry, allowing me to be more determined in achieving my goal of being a producer.” Beatrice von Guggenberg
"Planning the Legally Blonde event proved to be a valuable learning experience. That it was entertaining and organized reflected the time and energy put in to preparation for the event." Alyssa Kilambi
