Brad Silberling is a producer, director, and writer known for his work in film and television. He has directed and produced An Ordinary Man from his original screenplay. His prior credits include Land of the Lost, starring Will Ferrell and Danny McBride; the critically acclaimed independent feature 10 Items or Less, starring Morgan Freeman and Paz Vega, which he wrote, directed and produced; the Academy Award winning box office smash Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, starring Jim Carrey and Meryl Streep; the critically acclaimed Moonlight Mile, which he wrote, directed and produced, starring Dustin Hoffman, Susan Sarandon, Jake Gyllenhall and Holly Hunter; and the much lauded box office hit City of Angels, starring Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage, which he directed as his second feature.
His first film, for producer Steven Spielberg, was the family classic Casper, which followed three years of extensive television directing credits, primarily for producer Steven Bochco, including NYPD Blue and L.A. Law, among others. He is a graduate of the UCLA School of Theater Film and Television, where he earned his masters degree in production, following his bachelor’s degree in English from UC Santa Barbara.
